Why is Google so effective in providing you a great search result? Google is loved by its early adopters. The scientists, professors, or engineers who were doing important web searches enjoyed Google since it provided them a plethora of answers to many problems they needed solutions for. They did not stop their search by only examining the first three pages of Google. They clicked farther and farther, deeper and deeper, in Google search result pages until they eventually found what they were looking for.
Google indexed every web page, website, image,.....everything.
Google was not like Yahoo or any other directory that a person picked what they liked to be included in the directory. The fact that Google had everything indexed was a great asset. I am not discounting Yahoo or any other directory. Of course they are important, however, Google introduce an idea that went behind its time. It was revolutionary and evolutionary.
The early adopters of Google, did not really care on what search result pages they found the answer to what they were looking for. In reality they just kept on clicking page after page in Google search results until they found a better answer to the problem they were trying to solve.
The early adopters who were actually serious professionals doing important scientific or engineering web searchers loved it. This is the answer to why Google is so effective. It all trickled down to everyday users from the early adopters who loved Google.
Those who were just random users looking for businesses, or products to buy pushed Google to provide Adwords Select or "pay per click" solutions.
The fact remains that most people are looking for products or to shop and they need an answer now, here, on the first page.
The most important factor for any new search engine website is to pay attention to the early adopters. If they like it, it will trickle down.
